tbird "works for me"... but I am on 3.0b3 which is much better. there's 
a "reply-list" button. the thread view is much better as is selecting 
multiple messages and seeing a snippet of all of them.

the multiple email accounts has worked for me since I adopted it when it 
turned v2.0.x

agreed that it does need some serious loving to polish it up, but it's 
much lighter-weight than evolution.
