Yesterday's CLUG meeting at CB2 went well I thought. 5 people turned
up, all of whom either had laptops with things that needed
fixing/installing, or were willing and able to help fix those laptops.
I was on the receiving end of the fixes, and I learned lots from the
chats too, so thanks very much to Drew, Luke, Simon and Paul for your help.
It would be a good idea to meet a bit later next time as CB2 was still
packed with Sunday lunchers at 2pm and it was hard to find a free table,
and very noisy.
Some things that would have come in useful (must remember to bring next
time)
- Live DVDs / latest distribution DVDs (CB2 WiFi is too slow)
- CAT 6 network cable for connection to network to download WiFi drivers
- Gang block (only 2 power sockets available for 5 people)
- Blue tack to stick the CLUG sign up so it can be seen across the room
A memory stick & Linux command-line reference book came in useful.
It would be great to keep the monthly meetings going. Why not put
November the 8th in your diary now?
Thanks,
Julian
