Help with Linpus required.

I agree the most urgent thing to do if you have un-backed-up documents
which you wish to keep on it is to back them up as soon as possible.
We know that USB and ethernet/wi-fi is not working, what about the SD
card slot? If it's also not functioning then Wawrzek's approach of
booting from a usb-disk using a small linux distribution is probably
the best way to get them off.

Could you tell us when you see the "internal error - failed to
initialize HAL!" message? And any other messages that take place just
before or afterwards? This last one may be a tall order, but if you
could provide the contents of the /var/log/messages file?
