sorry to shoot you down in flames, but there's so much competition in
this space offering virtual machines and dedicated servers, that you'd
have to have pretty deep pockets to get set up and have the economy of
scale to make it work, and even then it'd pretty marginal.
you'd be better buying a high spec but quiet PC to host your own apps,
your own UPS, getting Virgin/NTL cable business plan or an ADSL MAX
Premium service; you'd need a proper firewall to control traffic not
some simple domestic modem/router.
