The DMCA is Evil and Stupid and if it applied to me I would find a way 
of breaking it (well, the bits that try to control what you do with 
your own posessions in the privacy of your own home) on principle.

Indeed - are Sony going to recover some of the good-will they lost 
through the whole root-kit business?

Especially if MS are basically subsidising the hardware (which was the
case with the original Xbox, AFAIK).
