Hmmm, take 2: don't think that was it, since I tried the fix but it wasn't
applicable to my hardware. Strangely though, the problem is worse today, and
the link is flapping *several times per minute* at the moment. No wonder my
upload/download speeds have seemed strangely slower than normal. I've tried
turning off autoneg, but to no avail...
Aaarrgggh!
