network flapping

Hi All - I've noticed my kernel logs filling up with network interface
errors recently (see below). My link seems to be flapping up and down a lot
- sometimes only twice a day, sometimes every few minutes, like tonight. My
first instinct is dodgy hardware, but could it be something else? Like some
sort of insanely aggressive power management courtesy of Ubuntu?  FWIW, it's
a shiny new ethernet cable, which I've re-plugged into different ports on my
ZyXEL broadband router. Which would leave my actual motherboard network
interface (10 month old Intel board) as the suspect ... any other ideas?!
